Re:Purpose transforms urban blight into thriving community hubs that fosters resilience and empowerment in underserved communities
Re:Purpose Community Centers is a for profit, non-government organization (ngo) dedicated to revitalizing underutilized urban spaces by integrating food production, job training, mental health services, community resource programs, and economic development initiatives. By transforming abandoned malls and parking lots, Re:Purpose aims to address societal determinants of health and community sustainability through a holistic, multi-vertical approach.
We imagine a future where every urban area repurposes underutilized spaces into self-sustaining ecosystems of nutrition, employment, health, wellness, and community-driven economic opportunities.
Through our Core 5 offerings (Re:Grow, Source, Work, Form and Store) we primarily serve low-income families, students, the un/underemployed, neighbors in need of health, nutrition and wellness services, clothing and essential goods and those struggling to navigate social service programs.
Our "why" is to shrink food deserts, unemployment and drop-out rates, provide low/no-cost access to care, boost the local economy by utilizing unused space, and reduce bureaucracy in assistance programs.
